Citizen Planner Training
.

The Certified Citizen Planner Seminar is a seminar conducted by the Utah Local Governments Trust in partnership with the Governor's Office of Planning and Budget and the Center for Public Policy and Administration at the University of Utah and is geared toward elected officials, planning commissioners, board of adjustment members and any other local government staff who may be interested.

The seminar is conducted over a period of two days and is taught by volunteers from both the planning and law communities. The central focus of the seminar is to educate the aforementioned individuals concerning planning and planning/land use law. Subjects may include: the role of the planning commission and board of adjustment, land use regulation, zoning, subdivisions, and due process in public meetings.

In addition to the materials handed out by the various instructors, manuals produced by the Center for Public Policy at the University of Utah are also handed out.

Upon completion of the seminar attendees receive a certificate of completion from the Center for Public Policy and Administration.
