What it is
The Utah Planner's Roadshow is an issue-specific outreach forum designed to answer tough planning-related questions asked by local government officials. Planning Section staff, at the request of local elected leaders, will visit your community for a three-hour discussion on hot topics and current planning issues with officials, staff, and concerned citizens. Materials are available to address specific concerns such as “How to Contract With a Consultant”, “Moratoria”, “Transfer of Development Rights”, and other matters of interest.
How we participate
Members of the State and Local Planning staff are not coming to town to write your community's plans for you or impose outside views. It is our position that local land use decisions are a responsibility of the local government. The State's role is to provide leadership and the means to build local capacity towards planning. Quality growth is the result of informed consideration of the many factors that influence and are affected by growth and development.
